Grufesa to unvail new packaging formats for berries

The Spanish cooperative Grufesa will attend the leading international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector, Fruit Logistica, which will take place in Berlin from 3 to 5 February. The company, devoted to the soft fruit sector, will showcase its latest innovations in packaging for this campaign.

Grufesa, which will be in Hall 18/A-05th, will have its own stand, where it will unveil some of the company's innovations to customers and visitors, as well as new packaging formats for berries, produced with several modern and innovative lines.



As reported by its manager, Carlos Cumbreras, "all our news is related to innovation. We are convinced that this maxim can be applied to all of the company's departments, from field to the store. This is what has allowed us to continue moving forward."

This desire to continue taking steps ahead is what has led to Grufesa to expand its range of berries and, after more than 30 years focused exclusively on strawberries, to start marketing a small volume of Mr. Blue blueberries.

Despite this step, Grufesa is still committed to the sustainable cultivation of strawberries, one of the cooperative's hallmarks. "Sustainability, for us, is a work philosophy; we apply new production techniques, such as IG4, which allows us to save up to 30% of irrigation water, supplying the plant only with the nutrients and water it needs. And we are committed to food safety and health with Food Chain Partnership, from Bayer; a program which we pioneered in this sector and in which we have been working since 2010," points out Cumbreras.
