Last year, Brazil set a record in fruit exports: total fresh fruit salesachieved US$ 735 million, a performance around US$ 100 million higher than2014. The Brazilian Fruit Growers-Exporters Association (Abrafrutas) hascelebrated the good moment, and a large delegation of those growers will bepresent at the largest trade fair in the sector, Fruit Logistica, which willtake place 3-5 February in Berlin, Germany.
Sixteen different companies will join the Brazilian booth, offering severaltropical fruit species such as melons, watermelons, pineapples, papaya, limes,oranges, mangoes, bananas, avocados and also some temperate fruits such asapples and grapes. The public will be able to taste the products, confirmingthe top quality of the fruits produced in the country gifted by the sun.
Brazilian participation in Fruit Logistica is part of the Frutas do BrasilProject, a partnership between Abrafrutas and the Brazilian Trade andInvestment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) which seeks to promote Brazilianfruit exports. As the third largest country in fruit production worldwide,there is a great and coordinated effort between growers and the Braziliangovernment in order to show foreign fruit consumers how competitive the countryis from the standpoints of product quality, production reliability andcommercial flexibility.
