Rejo Fresh grows and purchases two new trailers

"Cooperation in the logistics sector is imperative"

In 2015 Rejo Fresh experienced a healthy level of growth, says Johan Chrétien, director of the logistics company. "We achieved good results last year. We even had enough to do in the quiet periods. Usually, November, December and January are quiet months, but we had rapid growth in these months."

Eight years ago Johan founded the company together with REO Veiling, and his company has earned a good name for itself over the years, "Building up a network in Belgium was not easy, but the fresh produce sector is small, which means that companies know your name pretty quickly. But we still have to stay active of course."

New trailer
Rejo Fresh recently purchased a new trailer, which was presented at the Agro Expo Vlaanderen in Roeselare, Belgium, "Next week one more trailer will be delivered. Now we have more trailers than trucks. This means that we can supply even better service to our customers. We will always have a spare trailer, so we can respond on short notice if there is demand in the market. For example, if a buyer purchases more at auction that he had originally planned, he will need immediate transport, and we can provide that."

Cooperation is necessary
Johan says it is difficult to say what 2016 will bring, "We of course have to pay the road tax, and we have to wait and see how that will play out. I think that the biggest challenge of 2016 will be working together in the logistics sector. We need each other to avoid empty kilometers. It won't be easy, but it is imperative that we work together. We must join forces and ensure, for example, that two half empty trucks do not leave the same destination at the same time, because the cargo of these two trucks can be combined."
