New mix of Padrón peppers and cherry tomatoes for BBQ

At the upcoming edition of Fruit Logistica, Fulgencio Spa will showcase Marina Verde, its mix of Padron peppers with cherry tomatoes for BBQ and oven.
 
"Since we presented it in Madrid, at Fruit Attraction, we have been really happy with the good results it has been achieving," points out the marketing director, Javier Jiménez.

The product consists of an aluminium container ready for the BBQ, which contains a combination of Padrón peppers with cherry tomatoes, all selected with the right firmness for this format. Furthermore, it is accompanied by a 25 ml bottle of virgin olive oil from Granada and salt flakes.

"The idea for this product came from a request from a German customer, as a concept to consume in summer, but its popularity in the market has led us to seek a continuous supply throughout the year," he explains.

"The challenge with this type of value-added product is for them to end up being used on a regular basis. For now, it is working great, pushed by strong promotions at supermarkets. I think the most interesting goal is to make consumers identify vegetables as a key element in a barbecue."

Javier Jiménez added: "We will continue investing in our strongest products: cucumbers, with varieties that are gaining ground in the market, such as Cubies minicucumbers; and we will also continue in the search for cherry tomatoes that can provide added value to the consumer."
