"We provide correct packaging, protection for vegetables"

The vegetable sector is an important target group for the packaging company Refacom. Since 1991 Refacom has specialized in plastic wrap packaging and strapping, this ensures that the products are protected while in transport. Kris Roels says that the company is active in Belgium and Luxembourg, "We supply packaging to various sectors in the food industry. In addition to the vegetable sector, we also serve meat- and fish processing companies, cookie manufacturers and companies producing chocolate."

Agent packaging machines

Refacom works with various packaging machine brands, like Bolloré, SmiPack and TLM, and they have various projects in the fresh produce sector, "We provide the right packaging and protection for vegetables. Recently, we supplied plastic wrap and flow-pack packaging for vegetables, and shrink wrap for wrapping pallets. We have a special anti-damp wrap for broccoli and other vegetables. Refacom offers tailor made products that are specifically designed to meet the customer's demand. With our extensive range of devices and machines our customers can develop modular configurations that adapt to all the characteristics of the products being processed."

Refacom has a modern technical center where demonstrations and tests with products from their customers can take place, "This way our customers can see, in real time, the machines in use and the expendable goods."

New partnership with Guelt

Despite a difficult market, the company managed to remain stable last year, "Customers choose Refacom because of the tailor-made aspect and the quality of the products with a good price. The after-sales services is also appreciated." This year their range has expanded thanks to a new partnership with Guelt, "This allows us to offer a complete range of tray sealers and thermoforming machines. We can also provide total solutions for automatic filling and palletizing boxes through this collaboration."
