Recently a Dutch cooperative of certified organic growers launched Pommily. Pommily are organic potatoes rooted in clay and grown and packed on the Pommily Organic farm. The growers observed that consumers are becoming more aware of what they are eating, have more respect for nature and increasingly need information. With the introduction of Pommily the growers respond to the growing need for information, innovation and sustainability in the field of nutrition.
Eleven affiliated, carefully selected, enthusiastic organic growers are producing the Pommily potatoes. Pommily stands out for their fresh organically grown potatoes that are packed on a totally organic farm. The growers made it their mission to find balance in nature and to consciously interact with their environment. “Therefore Pommily potatoes are not washed and hence we save the environment and add to the potatoes’ shelflife. Pommily is an unique product.”
Pommily Organic potatoes are freshly packed in sustainable paper packaging that protects the potatoes and keeps them fresh longer. “The paper packaging is appealing for the conscious consumer and it is environmentally safe, being completely recyclable." Pommily is available in several variants; Pommily boil & bake 1.5 kg and Pommily boil & mash 1.5 kg, both in paper bags. Other varieties and packages are available.
Pommily is an initiative with the organic growers group of Nedato.
