Sorma Benelux is the new name of Freshpack Handling Systems

Sorma Benelux at Fructura 2015 with new corporate identity

At the Fructura 2015 fair, held in Hasselt between 27 and 29 November, Sorma Benelux will attend for the first time with its new corporate identity. It comes as no great shock for its customers, because the company, based in The Hague, has often presented itself in recent years as part of the Sorma Group. The name Freshpack Handling Systems will be permanently replaced by the name Sorma Benelux.

In 2002, the Sorma Group, an Italian manufacturer of machinery and packaging materials for the fruit and vegetable industry, founded the subsidiary Freshpack Handling Systems, putting it in charge of the entire Benelux market. During the first years of its existence, it concentrated its efforts in greenhouse horticulture. Fresh Pack is based in Westland, which was a logical step given its affinity with the greenhouse sector. In recent years, its focus has increasingly shifted to other fruit and vegetable sectors.

By giving more prominence to the name of the parent company, Sorma Benelux hopes to provide clarity to its customers. No secrets; we are Sorma and we are responsible for the Benelux market. Sorma Benelux supplies Sorma machinery and packaging materials.

Sorma Benelux therefore offers a wide range of machines, packaging and new packaging concepts for almost all fresh fruit and vegetables. The company also has experience in providing labour-saving automation projects. Sorma arranges turnkey projects worldwide; it produces in-house sorting machines, weighers, packing machines, box and crate fillers, palletisers and strapping machines.

At the Fructura fair, Sorma Benelux will showcase its products tailored to the hard fruit sector, like weighers and packing machines for apples and pears, or the new Ecopunnet packaging; it will also announce its partnership with Sinclair; a leader in the field of automatic fruit labelling. These labelling machines are often combined with the Sorma budget palletiser.

Sorma Benelux will be present at the Fructura fair this weekend. Stand number: 110
