Cauliflowers
"At the moment, the produce available comes locally, from France and southern Italy," explains Continental. Nino Leonardi, another wholesaler, adds that "the warm weather pushed production. For example, local and French produce is still available, whereas both seasons are usually over by now. There is too much supply and demand is practically non-existent."
All of this is reflected on the prices. "Cauliflowers from Salerno are sold at 30 cents per kg, whereas those from the Veneto or France reach 50/60 cents."

With this situation, producers are hoping for the cold temperatures to arrive soon but luckily it looks like they may not be waiting long.
