Vegetable prices rise due to weather influence

Vegetable prices in China climb up while fruit prices are declining. 21 vegetable varieties were monitored; prices of twelve sorts of vegetables rose, the prices of five vegetables declined and the prices of four vegetables remained stable.



Due to low temperatures and snowfall vegetable prices started to climb up in the last few days, this was the tendency on the whole Chinese vegetable market. Between November 6th and November 10th the daily average price of 21 vegetables went up by 1.2%. More than 7% of the vegetable prices rose. Prices of cucumber, green beans and rapeseed increased the most, respectively by 5.9%, 2.9% and 2.8%.
