Leading trade fair for asparagus and strawberry production

“Customers and visitors want to see innovations”

Last week, with a record number of exhibitors, the expoSE, Europe's leading fair for the asparagus and strawberry production, in Karlsruhe took place. Many exhibitors ended on a positive note and were impressed by the number of visitors this year. Every year around 5,500 visitors come to the fair. The exhibition presented an international outlook at their 20th anniversary. 84 exhibitors from 16 different countries presented their latest products to the industry.

As Simon Schumacher, spokesperson for the Association of Southern German Asparagus and Strawberry Growers previously announced, visitors could find other berries alongside asparagus and strawberries. "Many of our visitors and members produce other berry varieties alongside asparagus and strawberries and this is why we want to integrate these segments even more into our trade fair in the future."

Thomas Keßler of Team Pack, a packaging company, is sure: “Customers and visitors want to see innovations”. Team Pack presented their Ruck-Zuck baskets with integrated handles. Exhibitors from Spain and Italy presented the newest berry varieties. At the stand of the Spanish company Plansa, visitors could get information about the new strawberry varieties "Dream" and "Deluxe".

The trade fair inspired exhibitors and visitors equally this year. “The international character of the expoSE is very important for the exhibitors. And again we are very satisfied with the trade fair,” states the producer Helmut Steinmetz.

Next year the 21st edition of the expoSE will be in Karlsruhe. And many exhibitors hope for an enthusiastic crowd of visitors again.
