Fruit imports in Free Trade Zone increase considerably

The volume of fruit imports through Dongdu Port accounts for 98% of the total import volume in the Xiamen Free Trade Zone. In the first ten months of this year, the fruit import volume broke a new record. 3,179 orders were placed, adding up to 61,350 tons with a value of 70.3 million USD. Total value is 80% more than in the previous year.
Most import fruits come from Taiwan, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Chile and a number of other Southeast Asian countries. Among these, import volume of fruits from Taiwan increased dramatically. Current import volume is 35,069 tons, 98% more than the year before. Currently, Dongdu Port processes 80% of all fruit exports from Taiwan to Mainland China.
