China: price of autumn and winter fruits -30%

Autumn and winter fruits have started to reach the Chinese fresh markets in big quantities. Different to previous years, there are no expensively priced fruits on the market and the price of fruit is generally low.

The price of honey oranges floats around 3 Yuan per 0.5kg. Last year the same product was priced at 4 Yuan per 0.5kg.

The price of apples has decreased even more. Fuji apples were sold at 12 Yuan a kilogram last year. Currently the fruit is sold at 6 Yuan per kg. Pomelos are sold at 6 Yuan per kg, compared to 10 Yuan per kg last season.

Main cause of the price decrease is the large fruit market in the South of China.
