Villager dies picking betel nuts

On November 9th at 7.00 in the morning, Guo, his wife and four villagers helped to pick betel nuts in Xituo Village, Qionghai City. Guo used a long aluminium pole to collect betel nuts from the trees. At first Guo and another villagers picked nuts on the west side of the village. When they were ready, they did not shorten the aluminium pole but kept the full length when walking to the second picking place. The pole came into contact with a high-tension power line and Guo died from an electric shock.
