Ecuadorian bananas reach port of Hamburg

Germany could be a new niche for the entry and marketing of Ecuadorian bananas in Europe. After reaching specific agreements, the national fruit could be taken to the port of Hamburg by the Ulrich Stein company.

Pro Ecuador, through its sales office in Hamburg, met with the representatives of the Ulrich Stein company, which is dedicated to managing the logistics for fruits and vegetables that come to this German city that is considered the second most important port in Europe.

Currently, the port receives 470,000 tons per year, nearly 250,000 tons of which come from Ecuador. In this regard, Ecuador is an important trading partner for this company and for the port of Hamburg.

Additionally, Pro Ecuador visited the facilities of HHLA, where they observed the entire process through which the Ecuadorian bananas arrived to the German port and were delivered.
