New continuous blast chiller for asparagus

The company HMF Hermeler Engineering will present a new continuous blast chiller with transverse slides to the European public at the leading trade fair for asparagus and berry production. They will be presented at the fair in Karlsruhe on 18 and 19 November 2015.

A new continuous blast chiller with transverse slides for asparagus will be presented by HMF Hermeler Engineering at the expoSE. The blast chiller functions are as follows: the asparagus crates are transported on a conveyor belt to the transverse slide. The transverse slide is equipped with sensors that control the speed. The transverse slide pushes the crates onto the two or three track transport belt of the blast chiller. During the transport the asparagus are sprayed from above with ice water. After cooling the crates can be transported to the refrigerator on a conveyor belt. The reduction in manual labor is one of the benefits HMF mentions.
