Brazilian Piel de Sapo REI arrived in Spain

Itaueira Agropecuária introduces the new collaboration with CoolFresh España to export their own produce of Piel de Sapo REI to Spain and Portugal. The second container has just arrived in Spain and they expect to export until the end of February. At this moment they ship one container per week but are hoping to increase volumes soon. 

Over the last 10 years Itaueira Agropecuária has been working together with CMR Fruits/Infinita in Spain, to ship their Yellow melons to Europe. Adriana Prado, Itaueira Agropecuária, explains that CMR has their own produce of Piel de Sapo in Brazil. That's when they decided to introduce Piel de Sapo REI, using a new distributor in Spain and Portugal. It wasn't hard to decide upon working with CoolFresh España, since Itaueira had already established a positive cooperation with CoolFresh Rotterdam. 

Adriana points out that their melons are delicious and have great brix levels from above 14%. This year they deal with big sized melons with small seed cavity, which makes the melons more unique. This should contribute to the success of the melons during the wintertime in Europe, when there is no Spanish supply. Itaueira aims to grow consistently and build up their brand in the Spanish and Portuguese market. 

During the Fruit Attraction, which they attended for first time, visitors were able to taste the products. Adriana and her daughter Amanda received positive feedback on taste and sweetness, even from Spanish growers. This already says something on how the Piel de Sapo REI will be received in the market.
