Van Dijk Foods now has oranges under Castang brand

Tangerine market quiet

The Spanish citrus season at Van Dijk Foods Belgium has been open for a while now. Right now it is quiet on the market. According to Henk Vlaeminck, there is not very much news to share, "The supply of Clementines has dropped slightly due to bad weather in Spain. The Oronules variety is finishing up and the Clemenules are just starting."

Holidays
According to Henk, prices are stable, "Usually when there is less supply the price increases, but because of the holidays in Belgium demand is low. Although the price is not increasing, it is also not falling."

Oranges, under 'Castang' brand
Spanish oranges have been on the market since last week, "The better brands usually start later. At the beginning of next week we will start with a new crop of oranges under our Castang brand. We deliberately waited an extra week because the fruit did not have enough color. We wanted to start the season with good quality products from our house brand. The Castang brand is already known for its apples, lemons and Clementines. We are positive about the season and have full confidence in our consignors," says Henk.
