Chile wishes to improve trade relations with Morocco, Algeria, and Egypt

Starting Monday and continuing until November 10, Chilean authorities and nine businessmen from the country will visit Morocco, Algeria, and Egypt in order to improve trade positions and investment opportunities between Chile and the African continent, said the Directorate General of International Economic Relations (Direcon).

The commission expects to open new business with their African counterparts through business and investment seminars in each of the markets and through planned meetings with representatives of the chambers of commerce and industry, political and trade authorities.

The Chilean delegation is comprised of exporters of fresh and dried fruit, poultry and veal meat, canned and frozen seafood, fertilizers, timber, and boards and moldings who will meet with potential local buyers and will visit trade and distribution centers.

This is the second business mission that the Chilean representatives led by ProChile and Direcon make to Africa. In June, twelve businessmen visited South Africa, Angola, and Ghana, which favored the realization of business in these markets.
