Germany: Growers start with storage of celeriac

The farmers in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), a western state in Germany, start these days with the storage of celeriac. The vegetable roots are transported to cold storages in large crates. And according to the Association of the NRW fruit and vegetable farmers in Bonn the versatile vegetable can be be sold out of storage right into the next year.

Although celeriac isn’t a winter-hardy plant and is therefore stored, the NRW celeriac can be bought fresh all year round.
