State-of-the-art distribution centre
Cool Port will be a new, state-of-the-art distribution centre in the Waalhaven. Here, fruit and other cooled products are received, stored, processed where necessary (wrapping, ripening, etc.) and eventually delivered. The unique thing about Cool Port is its location, enabling Total Produce to use multiple modes of transport (water, railway and road). Being next to the water, the barge can be utilized, but export by water through short-sea connections to for instance Scandinavia is also among the possibilities. Cool Port is also directly adjacent to RSC, the rail terminal in the Waalhaven, so that the train can be used to transport the products.
Service
For Total Produce, the move has a number of major advantages. In the modern Cool Port warehouse, service will be greatly improved compared to the current situation, and Total Produce will have in-house packaging possibilities.
