BLE market report CW 40/15

Cauliflower from the Netherlands complements German offers

Cauliflower
Predominant German parties are locally supplemented by Dutch imports. Firstly the quantities came in in increasing quantities, which inevitably led to price decreases. On the other hand, declining supplies initiated higher ratings. The trade in Cologne and Berlin was constantly and abundantly supplied. After initial concessions, the demands there remained mostly at a constant level.

Apples
Despite the most satisfactory demand, as usual defending against the challenges of last week was not successful, which was mostly caused by the volume increase.

Pears
The assortment shaped itself to be very diversified. The size of the offers normally matched the degree of sales opportunities. The courses mostly remained at the present levels.

Table grapes
A broad product palette met an unagitated and occasionally slightly intensified demand. Nevertheless, the supply approximately met the demand. Thus, the claims could mostly be kept stable.

Strawberries
The end of the season moved ever closer. The stock-clearing rate slowed down. The courses oscillated closely tied to the freshness of the offers and the size of the supplies. However, they mostly remained at a high level.

Peaches and nectarines
The offers reduced; at the same time interest decreased. Products of adequate quality were therefore sold at stable prices. Occasionally these let themselves be raised a bit due to the limited supply.

Kiwis
The shipments from overseas, in monopoly-like fashion from New Zealand and marginally from Chile, dominated the trade. Thanks to convincing quality, the courses up until now are mostly maintained, despite low-priced competition from Italy.

Lemons
On one hand, the imports from overseas reduced, while on the other hand inflows from Spain rapidly expanded. With principally friendly attention, the price level only moved negligibly.

Bananas
Generally, the supply was adequately tuned to the mostly calm demand. Thus the quotations frequently remained stable. In case of stronger orders, courses tended upward.

Lettuce
With iceberg lettuce, domestic batches dominated over the Dutch. Because of an adequate demand, either the current appeal was hardly modified, or marginal price increases were established, frequently related to freshness.

Cucumbers
At the start, the supply lines halted. The high courses endured at first, or even moved up on occasion. However, due to subsequently increasing quantities from Mid-Europe, they quickly collapsed.

Tomatoes
The inflows from Mid-Europe were declining. Thereby mostly Dutch products came in, subordinately followed by Belgian and German products. When the trade remained lively, the calls for product so far could be increased step-by-step.

Capsicum
The Dutch shipments still rule the market. On the one hand the prices went down due to pressing quantities, on the other hand their courses went up because inflows were too limited.

Onions
Due to increased supply it was hardly possible at all to fixate the ratings for household products at their current level. Only occasionally could the quotations remain unchanged due to satisfactory demand.
