China: import fruit sales boost

Sales of premium fruit are growing rapidly in China. Popular are Red Delicious apples from the US, durian from Thailand, Mexican avocados, Vietnamese dragon fruit and imported kiwifruit.

According to fruit importers, prices have risen 15%-20% in the past year. Prices of import fruit are currently approximately three times higher than prices of domestic varieties.
