Maoming plantations, in Guangdong province, severely hit

Fruit production damaged by Typhoon Mujigae

Typhoon Mujigua has hit fruit plantations around the city of Maoming in the Guangdon province. Especially banana, lychees, longan, star fruit and jack fruit trees have been damaged by the extreme weather.

Due to the heavy winds, trees were blown down and branches have been broken. Strong winds have also blown fruit off the trees. Heavy rains have damaged roots of plants. As a result, the Maoming Fruit Bureau has issued an urgent notice to save part of the harvest.
