Italian pears dominate the trade, prices remain stable

The German trade is dominated by Italian pears, and not only Williams Christ but also Abate Fetel and Santa Maria. Excellent batches, free of any flaws, were sold quickly and for the requested price. And due to the increased supply the prices for the standard batches went for the reduced prices.

For Bosc pears the prices rose compared to last week. The supply of German Williams Christ, Conference and Alexander Lukas increased and with it the German position on the market. For the supply with a short shelf life the prices sometimes remained stable but mostly dropped a bit. The increased Dutch supply of Conference pears and a few Gellert pears went for the same lower prices as the previous week.

The appealing quality of Turkish Santa Maria pears on the market gave no reason to change the prices and if there was any change then the prices clearly went up.
