Clemens Drexel leader of purchasing organisation at SPAR

Generations with at SPAR: In October, Clemens Drexel will take over leadership of the purchasing organization at the SPAR headquarters in Salzburg. After 34 years, at the end of November, predecessor Mag. Gebhard Graf says goodbye and goes into retirement.

Qualified commercial computer scientist Clemens Drexel began his career at SPAR in 2002, was most recently manager of the master data division, and rose up to the position of division manager of the purchasing organization of SPAR on October 1. Already as a student, Drexel gained experience at SPAR South Africa among others, and started at SPAR Austria in 2002. His path at SPAR headquarters in Salzburg led him from IT through the division Business Process Management up to the purchasing organization, of which he has now taken over leadership. Clemens Drexel was born in 1971 in Dornbirn, is married and a father of three children.

Graf hands over to Clemens Drexel
Clemens Drexel takes over the position from Gebhard Graf, who held the divisional management position for the past 14 years. Among Grafs responsibilities were, among others, quality assurance of the own brands, shelf management of all store types, the import department, as well as coordination between IT and purchases. Altogether, Graf worked at SPAR for 34 years, and significantly participated with the development of numerous own brand products in assortment management, the SAP implementation for purchasing and expanding SPAR Hungary with regard to IT applications, employee training and the mediation of the SPAR company culture. The SPAR management board cordially thanks Gebhard Graf for his decade-long involvement and wishes him all the best in his well-earned retirement.
