Bronze award for grape destemmer

The Destemmer by ZTI Smart Machines from Tuitjenhorn, has won a bronze award at the Macfrut Innovation Awards. The destemming of grapes, dates and baby tomatoes using the destemmer beats doing it by hand. The machine is unique as it is the only one of its kind to remove the stem by twisting, just as with manual removal. This keeps the growing point intact, which extends the shelf life.

Depending on the quality and variety of grapes the Destemmer can process around 500 kg per hour. The Destemmer can also 'pick' dates and cherry tomatoes Click here for a little film about the machine.
