Klingele makes strategic partnership with Landpack
The shipping business has picked up great speed in the last couple of years. In this industry, Klingele develops packaging solutions adjusted to individual needs, which tend towards central requirements such as efficiency in material usage. With this Klingele supports the business model of online traders and helps them to save resources, and thus reduce costs.
Klingele made the the new cooperation with Landpack on the background of increased food purchases on the web: Landpack has developed an insulatory packaging from straw panels, which combined with Klingele’s corrugated cardboard makes an efficient and environment-friendly shipping packaging. The Landbox ® was tailor-made for shippers of fresh and cooled food products, and it is the first environment-friendly alternative to Styrofoam packages. Products sensitive to shock can also be safely shipped because of straw’s good restoring force.
Landpack CEo Dr. Thomas Maier-Eschenlohr: “Straw is an ideal insulation material – hygienic, optically appealing and provided with a bio-polymer structure. Our goal is to find new uses for a raw material that currently sees little use.”
Landbox: environment-friendly circulation product
“For years we have been developing custom, sustainable packages for online retail, and we know the requirements of the industry very well,” Dr. Jan Klingele managing shareholder of the Klingele Gruppe, comments. “In light of the growing online trade in temperature- and shock-sensitive products, the Landbox comes onto the market at an ideal time as a solution that fulfils the central needs of the customers and protects the environment. I am confident that the concept will strike the market, and have a good perspective on our cooperation with Landpack.”
The Landbox will be presented at this year’s FachPack (September 29 until October 1, 2015, Nuremberg) at Klingele’s exhibit stand (hall 7, stand 138).
