In recent years, Fengxin county, Jiangxi Province, has been upgrading its biological kiwi production programme. Growers in the county have focussed on the biological harvest and have invested soil improvement and breeding programmes.

Currently, local kiwifruit production covers 3,700 hectares (55,000 mu) with an annual productivity of 45 million kilograms and an estimated market value of 400 million Yuan. The county's main product, an organic green kiwifruit variety called Jinkui, has yielded an output of 18 million kg, a 2 million kg increase compared to last year. This year, 500 hectares of new kiwifruit plantations (8,000 mu) will be added.
