International Onion Conference

The Onion Trade Committee for GroentenFruit Huis (Fresh Produce Center) is organizing an International Onion Conference which will be held on Monday October 19, 2015 from 4:00pm - 9:00pm (including dinner). It will be held at the Van der Valk hotel in Middelburg, The Netherlands. The program will feature three renowned speakers:

Dr. Hans-Christoph Behr, from the German Agricultural Market Information bureau (AMI), will present the most recent European facts and figures about this season's onion market
Wayne Mininger, Executive Vice President from the American Onion Association, will give vivid insight into US marketing and strategy
Thomans Eskesen, the former Vice President of Maersk Line, will discuss experiences and development in international logistics

Also, in cooperation with Jo-Annes de Bat, the Commissioner of hospitality for the state of Zeeland will reveal the new worldwide campaign to promote Dutch onions.

The conference will conclude with a dinner buffet to give the guests a chance to network and socialize with others in the same field, and to provide an informal atmosphere to get to know the international participants of the annual 'European' meeting (October 20, 2015), who are being sponsored this year by the Dutch onion sector.
