Rockit® and Koru® apples highlighted at Fresh Summit

At this year’s Fresh Summit, Borton Fruit will be highlighting its newest apple varieties: the Rockit® and Koru®. The company has been marketing and introducing these varieties to the industry for the past couple of years. Both apples originated out of New Zealand. “They are unique in their own way, creating an unbelievable and consistent eating experience,” says Jay Dyer with Borton Fruit.

The Rockit® has a sweet - humbling crunch for flavor and comes in very unique packaging while the Koru® has a sweet - crisp and hearty robust flavor. “Currently, we are importing fruit from New Zealand while we are waiting on production from our own trees with quantities available in a couple of years,” mentioned Dyer.

In addition, Borton Fruit will be highlighting its premium varietals. “We will bring our orchard to the show. Fresh Summit is also a great opportunity to show our merchandising, including tray pack cartons, soft net bags, clam shells, Euro cartons, gift boxes, RPCs, secondary tote bins for apples and cherries, full tote bins for apples, and much more.”

This is the 15th year for Borton Fruit to exhibit at the PMA. “It allows us to show our products, who we are as a company and it gives us an opportunity to engage with current and potential customers,” declared Dyer. Borton Fruit will have a full staff on site to share its story and answer questions. The company can be found at booth #727.
