Southern Specialties celebrates 25th anniversary

“This year, we are celebrating our 25th anniversary,” says Charlie Eagle with Southern Specialties. “As we started to grow and become more firmly entrenched in the world of fresh produce, we decided to start exhibiting at the PMA show. This was about 17 years ago and we have supported the PMA ever since,” added Eagle.

We have grown with the PMA and really appreciate what the organization does for the industry,” mentioned Eagle. The summit has enabled Southern Specialties to grow its customer base, its grower community and its capabilities. “It continues to provide an opportunity for us to show who we are and meet face-to-face with all our existing customers as well as future customers.”

This year, Southern Specialties has planned an event during the Fresh Summit weekend to celebrate its 25th anniversary. In addition, the company is sponsoring the Global Connections reception. “More than 90 percent of the products that we grow, import, process and distribute come from outside the US,” declared Eagle. “We are known for growing and sourcing premium quality assured produce from Central and South America as well as Mexico and Canada. Our tag line says ‘let’s grow something special’. That includes growing great relationships with some of the best farms in the western hemisphere. ”
