"Innovation on the market with Polymer Logistics' "wood-effect crates"

Revolution in showcasing fruit and veg

According to their corporate philosophy on innovation and renewal in "retail ready packaging" Polymer Logistics introduced the first "wood-effect crates" in the world. The new fruit and vegetable crates made of plastic but with a wood design revolutionize the presentation and display in the fruit and vegetable aisles. And especially suitable for retailers who want to enhance the sustainable appearance of their fruit and vegetable area.

More and more supermarkets have or want to modernize with special attention to their fruit and vegetable area. One of the reasons for these modernizations is the realization that the fresh and regional look can lead to increased sales. And while the changes in the department undoubtedly improved the sustainability and the image of the area, the crates used in this range seem rather dull, and sterile.

Polymer Logistics offers a solution with the new wood-effectfruit and vegetable crates. These reusable plastic crates offer the retailers the possibility to change the general and dull plastic crates to the inspiring and sales inducing crates with wood-effect. In addition Polymer Logistics offers the supermarkets that work with real wooden crates the benefits of plastic, such as hygiene and cost optimizing. According to the first presentation of the new crates at Fruit Logistica in Berlin the RPCs demonstrated high product protection in the use of the entire production chain.

The new crates are foldable and stackable and optimize the available transport space. The wood-effect crates have a special catch; this catch provides safety for the users and speedy folding of the crate.

"These alternative plastic crates are suitable when the retailer wants to offer the customers a complete shopping experience in the fruit and vegetable aisles," explained Klaus Lammers, Senior Business Development Manager of Polymer Logistics. "We are convinced that these new fruit and vegetable crates in wood design are a breakthrough not only in terms of improving the appearance of the fruit and vegetable area but also in improving sales."
