Peru: Banana, mandarin, and grape exports to US up, January to July

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) stated that, according to figures from the National Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat), agricultural food exports to the United States between January and July 2015 increased by $7.4 million dollars.

Among the products that performed well in the US market are the grapes, which grew 65% from US $24.3 million in exports to $40.2 million over the same period in 2014.

Asparagus exports increased from US $94.3 million to 107.7 million dollars, as shipments increased by 14%.

Banana exports grew by 79% year over year, from $16.6 to 29.6 million dollars, while mandarin exports increased by 57%, going from $11.2 million dollars to $17.6 million dollars.

Meanwhile, mango exports went from $39.3 million dollars to $44.9 million dollars, i.e. a 14% increase over the same period last year.
