Bioport profit rises 15%

The turnover of the organic fruit and vegetable trading company Bioport from Zwaagdijk rose in the first six months of 2015 by 19% compared to the first six months of 2014. The result (gross profit) rose by 15% in the first six months compared to last year. The rise in turnover and result took place both among packagers for supermarkets and subscription companies.

Bioport was founded on 15 August 2012 and markets organically grown products from Dutch and Belgian growers. The rise is mainly thanks to a number of new customers from Great Britain, Spain and Denmark. Onions, parsnip, pak choi and greenhouse products are some of the products that contributed to the rise in turnover. Photographed is Fred Willemsen of Organic Nursery 'Vollenberg', grower of chicory, pak choi and more.
