Takii creates sunflower display at Van Gogh Museum
2015 marks the 125th anniversary of Vincent van Gogh’s death and in honor of this milestone the museum will have many inspired events. One of them is to open a new entrance hall.
The grand opening to be held on September 4, will feature a gigantic labyrinth outside the new entrance hall made up entirely of Takii Sunflowers. Takii Seed donated enough Sunflower “Sunrich Orange” seeds to produce 125,000 plants used to create the almost 2-meter high maze which will be in full bloom for weekend of 4, 5 and 6 September. On the 6th of September the public will be invited to come to the Museumplein in order to collect free sunflowers. This is the end mark of the event.
Takii Seed, is the breeder of Sunflower F1 “Sunrich Orange”.Sunflower variety. The Van Gogh Museum approached Takii Seed for the Sunflower maze project. Vincent Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” paintings are among his most celebrated, and Takii Seed is well known for its Sunflowers so the project provided a perfect opportunity to work together.
