Focus on global horticulture sector

Van Nifterik sells tree nursery department and fruit cultivation sector

Supplier Van Nifterik Holland has reached an agreement in principle for the sale of the tree nursery department and fruit cultivation sector. The Van Wesemael, Agro Buren and Agro de Arend group of companies is buying the two departments. All employees will keep their jobs.

The current team leader of the tree nursery department, Dikkie van Nifterik, will become the director of a newly formed company: Fruit Support Europe. This business will provide support materials and roofing for the mentioned companies. All activities in Van Nifterijk Holland's tree nursery will fall under Agro de Arend. Both companies will be located in Kesteren, The Netherlands. The acquisition will continue in the coming weeks. Alex van Nifterik will remain active, on a part-time basis, in the field of innovation and export for the company.

This important step will put Van Nifterik Holland in a better position to expand the growing activities in the horticulture sector. Global sales for products in the horticulture sector have increased significantly in the last few years. Van Nifterijk has increased their production capacity through a subsidiary they acquired in China in 2010. Daily management will remain in the hands of Alex van Nifterik.
