Texas Citrus Mutual Board of Directors appoints new president

Texas Citrus Mutual (TCM) has announced the appointment of Dale Murden as the President of TCM. In October 2014 Dale joined the Texas Citrus Pest and Disease Corporation as the Executive Director and in December 2014, when long-time President, Ray Prewett, retired, Dale was asked to stand in as Interim President of Texas Citrus Mutual.

The Board of Directors is excited to announce that Dale has accepted the position of President officially. “Texas Citrus Mutual has a longstanding history of serving this industry and we feel confident that Dale is the best person to lead us into this challenging time,” stated Fred Karle, Chairman of the Texas Citrus Mutual Board of Directors.

Prior to joining TCM, Dale was the President and CEO of Rio Farms, Inc. for 15 years. Dale has been in the Texas citrus industry since graduating high school in 1980, where he started out as an IPM scout for Texas A&M University. Dale is also a citrus grower, which is dear to his heart. “This is an industry of good people who have survived so many setbacks, yet always remain optimistic. We are now facing a new challenge with citrus greening disease, and I will work alongside lifelong friends and colleagues in the hopes of saving this great industry.”

Dale’s background and past involvement in the Texas citrus industry set a strong foundation as the new President of Texas Citrus Mutual.
