Green Earth Produce raises money for local charity

The 3rd annual Avocado Festival took place this past Sunday at one of Los Angeles’ most popular breweries. Located just a few blocks away from the wholesale product market, the festival’s highlight was Angel City Brewery’s Avocado Ale, brewed with fresh locally–sourced avocados. Green Earth Produce sold fresh avocados from its groves and distributed fresh guacamole in addition to giving away a variety of consumer-targeted promotional materials. All proceeds from Green Earth Produce’s sales went to Food Forward, a local non-profit whose mission statement is to “rescue fresh local produce….(to) feed our community’s most vulnerable.” Angel City Brewery also donated $1 for every pint of Avocado Ale that was served to Food Forward.

Gahl Crane, Managing Director at Green Earth Produce, was operating the booth along with other staff from Green Earth Produce.
Gahl stated that “People love avocados and this event, now in its 3rd year, is a great chance for us to connect with consumers who are truly passionate about avocados. At its booth, Green Earth Produce provided festival attendees with recipe booklets, avocado cutters and other avocado-themed materials. In addition Green Earth sold freshly made guacamole and custom-label bagged avocados made for the event. We were basically busy the entire day. Clearly guacamole and beer are a good combination.” Gahl added, “Angel City Brewery is committed to making delicious beer while also helping the local community. We were glad to get the opportunity to be a part of this event and give back to the community.”

The avocado beer is brewed with fresh avocados as well as cilantro, garlic, lime, red pepper and honey. It got very good reviews from all festival attendees.
