Import requirements for Medfly host commodities from Chile

Effective immediately, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is implementing restrictions on all commercial consignments of Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata or Medfly) host commodities imported into the United States from Chile.

The APHIS announcement below on updating import requirements for Chilean commodities, primarily but not limited to, clementines, grapes, lemons, mandarins, pomegranates and tangerines from the following quarantine areas: Tarapaca, Coquimbo, Valparaiso. Commodities require cold treatment prior to export.
