Chinese e-commerce: 625 billion dollars in 2015

Chinese consumers spent 242.51 billion euros online in the first half of 2015. That's nearly ten percent of all retail sales, and a 39.1 percent increase, according to figures from the National Bureau of Statistics.

Physical goods yielded over 200 billion, virtual goods almost 40 billion. This means the latter category grew even faster. Food sales increased by 45.9 percent.

For the coming year, 571 billion euros in revenue is expected, nearly twice as much as the US market.

The Chinese economy as a whole increased by 7 percent.
