Cape Town gets 100th Little Library
Little library number 100 is lowered into place.
On the official website www.mandeladay.com the following statement is written.
'In a world where knowledge truly is power, education and literacy are the basic building blocks that unlock the gates of opportunity and success. We all have a responsibility as parents, as caregivers, as educators, as leaders and as citizens, to instill in individuals, children and communities the critical drive for literacy and learning so that we can give them the chance to fulfill their dreams. Let’s lead through education'
A brilliant door to reading is opened...
We celebrate and applaud the amazing efforts which Little Libraries and its volunteers have achieved in 1,5 years. When we became involved in December 2013, little did we know with which power this project would explode onto the CSR landscape. Hats off to Camille Quine and her supporters in South Africa!
The proud mama's who will be taking care of the facility.
Little Library Number 100 is a large community library in a township, enabling impoverished children from all ages to have access to books. Something this size does not happen like a standard little library, and Camille collaborated with many awesome people to make this special edition a great success. More photographs will follow soon, but in the meantime please watch the journey to LL Number 100 by clicking on this link.
