USDA accepting applications for Food for Progress Program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for the 2016 Food for Progress Program, which helps developing countries and emerging democracies modernize and strengthen their agricultural sectors. U.S. agricultural commodities donated to recipient countries are sold on the local market and the proceeds are used to support programs that improve agricultural productivity and expand trade of agricultural products. Projects normally last from 3-5 years.

Organizations eligible to apply include foreign governments, intergovernmental organizations, private voluntary organizations, cooperatives and nongovernmental organizations.

The application deadline is C.O.B. on October 14, 2015.
