Summer weather increases tomato supply

With the arrival of the first summer weather the supply of tomatoes from the island Reichenau increases. On the sunny island in Lake Constance, the tomatoes grow on 8 ha. This year a harvest of 2,000 metric tons can be expected. Carefully picked and sorted by hand the tomatoes go to the Reichenau-Gemüse where the tomatoes are sold. Because the vegetable cooperation market sells exclusively in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, the short transport routes have advantages for the consumer and the environment. The extensive range of the Reichenau tomatoes is offered loose or in various convenient forms of packaging.

A tomato connoisseur will recommend the Reichenau tomatoes. This tasty tomato has a very special acid-sugar ratio and this gives the very special experience. The Reichenau farmers offer a diverse range of tomatoes and the offer is complemented by organic tomatoes both from the island of Reichenau and from the organic nursery in Aach. A total of 6,000 pallets and 200 trucks of with the healthy red tomatoes leave the island every year, especially in the coming weeks.
