Summer 2015 will be quite special for the Spinetti family, because the family business is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

"We are very proud of these 20 years. We started with two hectares in the mid-1990s and have always worked a lot to obtain the maximum customer satisfaction. There were good times and not-so-good times, but we managed to grow over the years," explains Giorgio Spinetti, sales manager and owner of Top Melon together with his brother Gianni.
"We have three objectives in mind for the future. First of all, we want to keep working with the same spirit to guarantee a constant growth and an increase in foreign sales. Then we want to extend our processing facility. We should start the works at the end of the campaign. Our third objective is to invest in production by building other fixed tunnels for protected cultivation. The fact that the area is particularly suitable to grow melons and the fact that there are no other producers mean we can work on fertile soil with ideal rotations."
"By introducing new varieties, we have reached extraordinary quality levels. We are focused on receiving good feedback from our clients."
"For what concerns prices, the campaign suffered a little at the beginning because the weather delayed Sicilian production. Now quotations are stable and the hot weather will probably lead to increased consumption. We also have new clients both in Italy and abroad, mainly in Germany and the Netherlands."
