Ready-to-eat kiwis followed by mandarins and bananas

FruitRangers new fruitbrand for children

From week 23 onwards a new brand can be found in supermarkets. FruitFactor, based in Ridderkerk, developed FruitRangers. The brand targets children from the age of three to nine years old and focuses on education and adventure. Eating fruit is not only tasty and healthy but also cool.

All products within the range are available year-round and ready-to-eat. The kiwis are available immediately, followed by seedless easy-peel mandarins/tangerines in autumn 2015. Only the tastiest varieties are packed under the FruitRangers label. Mid 2016 handy children-bananas will be added to the product range. Apart from the FruitRangers label, the bananas will be provided with the Fairtrade label.

Packaging
The ready-to-eat kiwis are packed in punnets of 500 grams in 40x60 cartons/boxes of 16x500gr. It is also possible to pack 8x500gr. The mandarins will be packed in 10 punnets of 750 grams each in a 40x60 carton. The bananas will arrive in bunches of seven pieces. The packaging for the bananas still needs to be designed. All packaging is recyclable and/or originating from recycling.

Concept Story
FruitRangers Jack and Lizzy are explorers and are going on adventure. In their fruit van they travel to tropical destinations searching for the healthiest and tastiest fruit in the world. This isn’t always easy. Where do the best kiwis, mandarins and bananas actually come from? During their trip they encounter many challenges and as real FruitRangers they learn everything there is to know about these fruits. Where does it grow, which vitamins do they contain, how are they cultivated/grown, and how are they harvested. And more important what do these vitamins, fibres and minerals do for your well-being.

The packaging will regularly contain items with a high playground currency rate. Items which children want to collect and/or exchange. Eating fruit becomes cool and while you’re enjoying it you learn a lot about its origin.

Website
On the FruitRangers website (www.fruitrangers.nl) you can read all about Jack and Lizzy’s adventures. You’ll be able to read about their discoveries, you’ll learn about the continents and seasons and you will find out why fruit is so important for your well-being.
