Ardo makes massive investment in France

Belgian group Ardo’s factory in Gourin (Morbihan) will receive a €37 million investment to create a storage facility and increase production capacities. €32 million will go into the storage centre and €5.5 million into a treatment site. The factory processes frozen spinach, green beans and other locally produced vegetables.

This upgrade will allow Ardo to half their heavy goods vehicle traffic in Gourin by setting up storage facilities elsewhere. They will save 65,000 km of transport per year, i.e. 80 tons less CO2 emissions. Energy used by the new storage centre will be 4 times lower than the current one.

Ardo has 3,800 employees on 20 sites in 8 countries (5 in France). The site in Gourin counts 360 employees with a €95 million turnover. The factory is supplied by 350 vegetable producers, mainly from the Morbihan. Every year 80,000 tons of raw and finished products leave the site in Gourin.
