GS1 Germany is Top Supplier Retail 2015

The EHI Retail Institute awarded GS1 Germany in the category Best Enterprise Solution for solutions in the supply chain and traceability.

During the gala at the fair EuroCIS in Dusseldorf, the EHI Retail Institute awarded the Retail Technology Awards Europe (reta) for the 8th time. For the first time the participating service providers and suppliers were recognized with the award "Top Supplier Retail". The EHI recognized the service provider for the implementation of projects with the trading companies.

GS1 Germany received the prize for its solutions and services that contributed to the success of the award-winning projects by the Metro Group and Migros. Metro Group and Migros received besides Globus also the 2015 reta in the category "Best Enterprise Solution". With the app ProTrace The Metro Group offers its cash and carry customers complete traceability based on Ftrace. Migros East Switzerland controls its optimized supply chain processes through the use of GS1 EPCIS interface standards.

It once again underlines the high degree of innovation, and strategic and financial benefits of our standards and solutions," explained Jörg Pretzel, CEO of GS1 Germany. "This appreciation recognizes us as a service provider and our leading philosophy for a consumer-oriented and future-oriented value chain", continued Pretzel.

The traceability service Ftrace of GS1 Germany is the basis for upcoming App of the Metro Group. Ftrace is a solution that ensures the traceability of goods throughout the entire chain, from the origin of the raw materials to the point of sale. Thanks to its integral EPCIS technology a company can analyze the motion data of a product, for instance from the location and date of the catch of a fish on its way along the supply chain. Follow, efficiently, safe and reliable an individual batch al the way to business partners or consumers. Migros East Switzerland uses this technology too, for more transparency in their supply chain.
