"We are really proud because we have focused a lot on this peach and consider it the Saturn peach with the best organoleptic characteristics in the Mediterranean between late July and mid-August," explain the owners.
"That is why we would like to extend the cultivated area even though this variety already represents almost a third of our production - not only to make this high-quality product available during the whole month of August but even because these peaches are ideal also for the processing industry."
The father/discoverer of Strike Giorgio Eleuteri describes the variety as a white Saturn peach that developed as a spontaneous mutation of "Stark Saturn" in 2000. After having assessed its behaviour for years, Eleuteri presented patent application no. 2010/2229 to the CPVO in 2010, which was accepted in March 2015.
The variety ripens between the last week of July to the first ten days of August. The colour is great and the flesh is firm but juicy with a Brix level of 13.5-14. The aroma is quite intense, grades are A+ and it is not acidic.

Blossoming is intermediate and abundant and the growing habit is excellent on specific rootstocks.
