PMA Fruittrade Latin America expands partnerships

PMA Fruittrade Latin America, now in its second year, is expanding the international conference’s partnerships with the addition of a Planttrade pavilion supported by the Asociación de Viveros de Chile (AGV, the association of Chilean nurseries). With backing from ProChile, this international convention will now host influencers from Produce Marketing Association’s (PMA) community of global buyers and sellers, Fedefruta’s established growers and suppliers, and AVG’s horticulture experts. AGV was established in 1990 to assist and promote fruit nurseries more effectively.

According to the Yearbook Nurseries 2014, nurseries in Chile sold more than 73 million fruit plants. When totaled with those remaining in nurseries, the country is responsible for some 130 million fruit trees a year.

As a special area of the PMA Fruittrade expo, exhibitors of the Planttrade pavilion will have a designated space of 22 booths, creating a destination for those in search of information regarding plants and growing materials. In addition, there will be a series of educational workshops designed specifically for the needs of this group.

“Olmos frut has exhibited at Planttrade since its inception,” says Rodrigo Palacios, technical sales for Olmos frut. “We’re excited to see the exhibition evolve and join PMA Fruittrade Latin America so we can connect with those interested in modern nursery fruit plants. We’re producing more than one million plants a year – so this large, collaborative event is a good place to network and further our business.”
