300 kilos of cocaine among pineapples in Ridderkerk

At a company in Ridderkerk, employees discovered 300 kilos of cocaine last Wednesday. The drugs were hidden among pineapples.

The pineapples were in a container from Panama. The container arrived in Rotterdam on Tuesday aboard a sea vessel, and was then transported farther. While unpacking the container, the employees discovered the boxes with cocaine. The HARCteam, a joint venture of the Customs department, Seaport Police and FIOD, assume the company has nothing to do with the import of the drugs.

The cocaine, with a value of over 10 million Euro, has now been destroyed. The HARCteam starts an investigation into the senders and receivers of the drugs.
